TWO YEARS LATER... Rex passed away two years ago today. It was around 2 AM when he passed away lying in my arms, with Charlotte nearby. Holding him and loving him, getting to be his parent has been one of the greatest priviledges in my life, and one of the most painful. My wife and I are okay right now. We have moved on with the comfort that Rex is in Heaven with our Father, and we continue to push through each day. We have experienced many highs and many lows since Rex passed. He is never more than a second from our mind, but most of the time we can smile while reflecting on him. Sometimes, like now, it is really hard to think about him. Tears in my eyes make it hard to check my grammar and spelling. We love Rex with everything we are! Austin and Gabe seem to be doing well too. They miss their brother as much as we do. Sometimes they talk about him to us, and sometimes we just visit his grave and stay silent. The arrival of Rex's baby brother, Bryce, was one of our highs since this terrible trajedy. He does not know who Rex was yet, but one day he will know the story. I figured there may be some people on his website today, or visiting his grave. I want to say thank you to everyone that helped us along the way, and those who still are. I want to say thank you for remembering my son, and what this day was like for us two years ago. God is good, even in the worst times. I said during Rex's life that I did not understand why God would allow something so horrific to happen to a baby. Two years later, I will gladly tell you that I still don't. God is God, and I am not. Maybe He was teaching us something, maybe life just stinks sometimes and the curse of man hits us where it hurts the most. To our little Rex: My son, you will never be far from us even though you can't be with us! We love you and we miss you everyday! Bryce likes to look at your pictures and point. I think he thinks it is a picture of himself. I guess you know how much the two of you look alike. We love you, son!
